Dear Humans

My name is Jack. I think that I should not be locked in this cage because I have not done anything wrong so why am I in here. This is a punishment not a reward and I am not that old. Give me a chance at life people. Why?  Would you like to be locked up in a cage? Come on people I need some help. Can someone please save me out there. This is not nice. I do not learn anything. This is a boring life sitting in a cage.

After a while I will have nowhere to go. I will say it again someone save me please. I want to be saved, this is like you being locked up somewhere and you can't  do anything. This is like a nightmare that you hate to wake up to. Come on people, you walk past me and I think that you are going to save me but no it is the dog next to me. Also the dogs are getting angry at me. I will not live much longer because I am getting hungry because I only get fed once a day. There are no friends in here for me in this place.

Persuasive writing

School sports should be mandatory

I am writing to the people that think school shouldn’t make kids play sports. I think that kids should have to play sports. Following are my 3 reasons that school should make kids play sports.

Relationships

Kids that play team sports make lots of relationships and they get along with other people in the team and outside of the team eg supporters. They learn to win and lose graciously together because some kids when they win they like to go to the loser's face and say they won, also the loser already knows  that the other kids have won . I think that playing school sports will help children learn what sportsmanship is.

Healthy

People that are fit are healthy and they have a lower risk of heart disease because their heart if pumping when they are running and playing sports. It also decreases the risk of developing type two diabetes. Likewise people that are fit are less likely to be sick but if they get sick they can fight the pain and sickness away a lot quicker.       

Stronger

People that play sports will get stronger with all their running. Also, when they do their stretches it makes their muscles stronger. If they play sports or if  they want to play one they will train so they can become better at that sport. In fact, people that are fit have stronger concentration which would help at class time.     

For these reasons, kids that play sports in schools make more relationships and they are healthier and stronger. Without a doubt, this makes a better student at class time.

Russell westbrook Biography

Known for

Russell Westbrook is known for playing basketball in the NBA (national basketball association) and for his fashion.  Also some people know him for his fastest triple-double (A triple-double is 10+points, 10+ assists and 10+rebounds.)  Also he is known for being voted in to be in the all star game 6 times and he is 2 time all star MVP.

Childhood

His favorite player when he was a kid was Magic Johnson. He played football, baseball and tennis when he was growing up.  His mum is Shannon, his dad is Russell Jr,  his younger brother is Raynard and his wife is Nina. Russell Westbrook went to Lezing High in Lawndale California.

Major achievements

Russell got defensive player of the year in college. He played for the USA in the 2012 olympics and won gold, he was wearing the number 7 for USA.  He got into the rookie first team.   Also he has made the all NBA second team 4 times so far. He has been in the all NBA first team once.

Other stuff

Russell Westbrook wears number 0.  Did you know that Michael Jordan and Russell Westbrook are the only people to get 25 points and 10 assists in their playoffs debut.  He signed a 26,540,100 million dollars for 3 years with OKC Thunder. Russell Westbrook was born in 12/11/1988.  He could not dunk at high school.  He has also been to the NBA finals in 2012 but did not win they played miami heat and loss the series 4 games to 1 game.  His favorite number is 4.

Camp Kaitawa 2017

This year the year 5 and 6's went to Camp Kaitawa, but I went for my second time. There were some things that were different, like we did rock hopping around parts of Lake Waikaremoana.

My favourite part of camp was when we went kayaking because we grouped the other kayaks and we ran across them and jumped off at the end of it.

The funny part of camp was watching some kids doing the stupid challenge at Lake Waikareiti, they had to put their shoulders under the freezing cold water for 40 seconds and they got a chocolate bar.

This year we went though more caves than in 2015.  My favourite cave was the last one, we had a rope and the cave went down.

Also on Thursday night, we did fear factor, we got blind folded and had to eat some food, we all did it, but at the end two people had to to do it and I got sour cream and chives.

Senses Poem

Super Rugby

I see  His Big foot hanging in my face.

I smell   Hot chips from the wicked crowd.

I hear  The crowd yelling their heads off  saying "Get him down chiefs!"

I feel  The  rumble from the running feet .

I taste   The dirt mushed up in my mouth.

Animal Enclosure reflection

My Creature is  a Sea Otter.

Some things I needed to consider about my creature: My sea otter needs a river to swim and food so it can survive. It likes to eat sea urchins, crabs and more. Also it needs land so they do not have to stay in the water.

My enclosure has these special features for my pet: A river to swim in to kept cool and food to hunt.   Also land so they do not have to stay in the water.

What I am pleased about: That all the wall glued well to together. I am managing my discussions and my planning mussel.

What I have found tricky: Get the colour pencils to look like a river and the water fall. To make land look like land because of the colour.

What I would like to improve: The river because it does not look like a river. To maybe put some trees in. To give it something to play with. And draw a sea otter to put in.
